There is always room for improvement.
A curious phenomenon that happens with many motorcyclists is the belief that they are as good as they ever need to be. For too many riders, the weekend-long rider training will be all the instruction they receive.
That’s both a shame and a cause for concern. Like speaking a language, or performing a specialty skill, capabilities erode over time. Furthermore, without quality feedback and evaluation, old habits set in. This has the effect of rendering the minimal training obsolete.
There are many reasons to engage in additional rider training. One of the primary benefits is offered by most insurance companies. Recent training entitles riders to a significant premium reduction.
